"Many missionaries have come to India from a very comfortable life overseas. They had to learn another language and accept a lower standard of living and income. Some gave their entire adult lives in service here. There was no personal gain for them to come. Our people were not their blood relatives that they should make sacrifices for them. I watched their example and knew that if they were prepared to come thousands of kilometres from home to share God's love and service my people, then the least I can do is to give my life for my people."
Philemon has been true to God's calling on his life and continues to minister to many patients who can not afford the full cost of medical services. Ashwood Mission Hospital, along with many other ministries overseas continue to reach out to many people offering renewed hope and an awareness of God's love because people overseas provide financial and prayerful support of their ministry. Church partnership work is not tax deductible. Donations used for Gospel and welfare activities in our overseas partner settings are non tax deductible under Australian Taxation Law.

Gifts to Churches of Christ Overseas Aid (COCOA) are uilised for assisting with community development or relief activities in our overseas partner settings. These donations are tax deductible and must be utilised for specific criteria. Below is the definition and criteria that GMP use to define what can be tax deductible through COCOA.

Sponsor a Child
When you sponsor a child you help to provide food, clean water, shelter, clothing, health care and an education in a supportive Christian environment. This is life changing for children in poor communities whose families have often been devastated by poverty and ill health.
