Horn of Africa Appeal

A COCOA emergency relief appeal has been launched for those in urgent need of humanitarian assistance across the Horn of Africa. The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs estimates that as many as ten million people are now affected by drought and food shortages. The situation is described as the worst in 60 years and the most severe food security emergency in the world today. The Famine Early Warning Systems Network warns that the current resources available are “inadequate to prevent a further deterioration”.
