A Virgin Coconut Oil forum was held August 4-11 as the final component of the feasibility study in a series of workshops which Frank Sanders has been conducting on Pentecost. It was an opportunity for people from various islands, including community leaders, to share their thoughts about how to better utilise coconut products and provide local employment opportunities.
Sue has been providing practical assistance for people with disabilities. This has included regular travel with the local Ranmawot nurse to assist a lady with Parkinson’s disease.
Due to a range of unexpected administration difficulties the maximum length of stay on Frank and Sue’s current visa was set as 22 August. To make sure they don’t overstay their time and jeopardize future visa applications, they will arrive home tomorrow on 18 August. They will spend a week in Toowoomba catching up with Sue’s family and then take a few days on retreat to reflect on and pray about the interest, need and benefit of future work in Vanuatu to promote local industry and disability services.
