Four boys recently joined the family at Khayelihle Children’s Village. Kwanele Mpofu is 2 years old, Dereck Mpofu is 4, Michael Mpofu is 7 and Thabo Mpofu is 10. This brings the total to 94 children in the KCV family with another 105 children being assisted in the local community in Bulawayo as part of the Community Orphan Care Program.
Yesterday and today schools in Zimbabwe are closed for public holidays. Extra lessons have been organized for the seven students at KCV who will be writing their Ordinary Level Examinations this year. The rest of the children and the office staff are enjoying having two days holiday.
Jabulani Xaba, director of KCV, reports, “Summer is around the corner and we can’t wait to pack away our heavy jackets and jerseys. Our projects have continued to do well and we appreciate everyone who has contributed towards the development of KCV. Thank you very much for your dedication towards Khayelihle.”
