Khayelihle Kids

Zimbabwe House is now complete! Once it is furnished, more children will be added to the Khayelihle Children’s Village (KCV) family which currently numbers 89.

KCV is grateful for the extra donations that came in at Christmas time, making it a special celebration with extra food and gifts of new clothes for each of the children. A conference on the theme ‘Building Better Foundations for Future Generations’ was also held in December which the young people attended.

This year there are ten children in preschool, 52 in primary, 18 are at high school and two at College. Four of the 105 children in the Community Orphan Care Programme are doing tertiary education and sat for exams at the end of January. The KCV family is very proud of Nyarai Moyo who graduated in December with an Honours degree in Psychology. She is currently seeking a job and hopes to be able to finance the completing of her Masters degree.

Rain has been erratic in Zimbabwe. The maize crop has just survived but will have a low yield. A second reservoir has been constructed at KCV but is yet to be equipped with a pump. This project has been funded from donations from Queensland.

KCV Church continues to thrive. The children, staff and neighbours worship together with joy and gratitude for God’s love and provision.
