House Churches in Vietnam

A few weeks ago the Ho Chi Minh City Church of Christ celebrated the baptism of nine young people. The church meets in an apartment. After the worship service they gathered at the local swimming pool for the baptisms. It was a joyous occasion. As each was baptised their decision to follow Christ was celebrated with applause and joy.

The baptisms were followed by lunch. One person who had been watching what was going on came and spoke to one of the pastors who explained what baptism meant and then invited the enquirer to stay and have lunch. The person did so and entered into the activity of the rest of the day willingly.

Over the past year Global Mission Partners has been building a relationship with the leaders of the house churches in Vietnam. We are privileged to partner with these Vietnamese pastors and the churches they lead. Their needs are great and the risks are real. Partnering with them gives them hope and strengthen their journey.
